Asansol city is in Burdwan District of West Bengal. It is located near Durgapur city. It is about 200 km Kolkata. It is the third largest city in West Bengal.
Here buses, rikshaw, autos are availabe. But they dont go according to the meter.

It is about 20 kms from Asansol. People often go for picnic here. There are two ways to reach maithon dam. one is through neamatpur and the other through ushagram.
IISCO-
This is the most famous steel plant in Burnpur, few kms from Asansol. It has been now took over by SAIL.
Asansol Market-
The main market consists of big malls like Bazaar Kolkata, City Bazaar, Mega Bazaar, Bazaar Asansol, Super Bazaar etc. Branded shoe shops like Khadims ,Srileathers is also there. Evey kind of marketing can be done here.Central Bus stand area on the G. T. Road is the main market place where retailing is almost traditional.Current rental values in Asansol ranges between Rs 30 to Rs.65 per sq.ft. per month and capital values are in the range of Rs. 3000 to Rs. 8,000 per sq.ft. Rentals are very high near Central Bus stand & Houton Road area (Rs. 40 - 80 per sq.ft per month). As rentals are very high, there has been a trend is observed of shifting from out right sale of a property to rent out a property.

Hotel & Restaurant market at Asansol is not a steady & organized market. Restaurants situated in the main market area are largely dependent on the outside floating customers who normally come from nearby locations like Pandabeswar, Chittaranjan, Barakar, etc. Sales in those restaurants don’t remain the same through out the week. Usually Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday gives comparatively better sales. Eating out culture has not fully developed here. People prefer to take food from the roadside cheap eateries irrespective of their economic status, which offers from Chinese dish Chowmin to Indian dish Biriyani.
